ALFF In-house Ministries

Evangelism - To reach our community and city with the good news of Jesus Christ.

  • Missions - to help spread the gospel to areas within the United States and countries around the world (Kenya).

Jail Ministry - To extend to men and women in prison the saving grace of Jesus Christ through the Word of God and praise and worship.

Follow-up Ministry - Contacts visitors and members that request information, comments and concerns on the Welcome Sheets.

Book & CD - Provide reading and audio material for spiritual enrichment.

Porter Ministry - Stays in contact with various members of the church.

Youth Ministry - To assist young people in reaching their full potential.  Always encouraging young people to make the decision to accept Christ in their lives and live for him.

New Members - To welcome new members into the church.  Includes our Orientation Classes which educate new members on the church’s beliefs and history.  Members have the option to attend additional spiritual growth classes.

Sunday School - To teach the Word of God in a practical manner to both teenagers and adults.

School of Discipleship - To provide a learning environment to promote spiritual growth and character development towards becoming more like Christ.  These classes are required for church leadership positions.

Prayer Ministry - To assist the Elders and Ministers in ministering to people who have re-sponded to prayer requests and/or the 5 invitations that are given in any service (salvation, wa-ter baptism, Holy Spirit baptism, rededication and healing).  Includes weekly corporate prayer using the prayer of agreement.

Communication/Office Ministry -

  • To help give out information to the congregation, visitors or anyone inquiring about the church and events. 
  • Needed:  those experienced in word processing, website workers, telephone callers, people to get info out to media, etc.

Spiritual Gifts Assessment - Help members of ALFF discover their gifts and talents and how to best put them to use in the church.

Children & Nursery Ministry - To provide ministry for infants up to 12 years of age.  The gospel is taught on their level.

Helps Ministry - To assist in church maintenance, serving food, etc. or any assistance needed that helps the function of the church.

Ushers/Greeters - To welcome and serve the congregation and visitors during various church functions and to provide a sense of belonging to each one who enters the church.

Deacons/Communion Workers -

  • Deacons are positions called of God and recognized by the eldership, not open to signup.
  • Communion Workers - are to assist in the preparation and clean up of communion.

Special Events - to assist in planning and preparing the sanctuary or other designated areas for special events.

Music Ministry - to lead the congregation into praise and worship.  This ministry includes sing-ers, instrumental, dancers, projection crew and sound crew.

GEWELs (God’s Extra+Ordinary Women Enlightening Lives) Women’s Ministry - the purpose is to unite and enlighten the women of ALFF.

Men’s Fellowship - the purpose is to unite and enlighten the men of ALFF.

School Supply Giveaway - biggest evangelistic event held at the beginning of each new school year.  Children of all ages and grades are given a free backpack filled with school supplies.  Open to the pubic, but child must be present.

Vacation Bible School - an annual 3-day event where all ages participate in various activities learning about God.  All are welcome.

Produce Giveaway - ALFF sponsors a fresh produce market (fruits and vegetables) on the 3rd Friday of each month.  Staffed totally by volunteers, everything is free to anyone in need of help, with proper identification.

Coat Giveaway - an annual event in late Fall when new and gently used children and young adult coats are given to people in need.  Donations are welcome.

City Link - Annual Thanksgiving basket giveaway to the public.
